Not a Word: Compassionate play about emigrants who never returned
Raymond Keane is a man moving between hope and surrender in Brú’s physical theatre play

★★★★☆
Somewhere in the unknown town of Brú Theatre’s physical theatre play Not a Word, a grey-dust man returns to the darkness of his empty apartment. He silently removes clothes smattered in the dirt of the work day, having drudged a farm, or a construction site, or a coal mine, or someplace else. There is some mud he can’t shake off; when he approaches a moonlit window, we see his face warped by a wet-clay mask, preposterously swallowing his entire head.
