Project Arts Centre - Space Upstairs, Dublin Fringe Festival

★★★☆☆

From the first mouthful, the delightfully rowdy performances of Australian troupe Hot Brown Honey were something palatable: easy to drink in and, ultimately, exactly sweet enough.

On their previous visit to Dublin (Hive City Legacy isn’t the first show in this year’s Fringe to call-back to the 2016 festival. Also see: Wake), the company’s high-wattage blend of hip-hop music and satirical comedy had an Oceanic focus, turning island-country ideas of idealised womanhood on their head, and retaliating against noxious traits of white privilege (the title of a standout song was “Don’t Touch My Hair”).
